MEDITATION:

There comes a time when you seek to comprehend the true meaning of PEACE, and how you as an individual may find that peace, a peace which the world can neither give you nor take from you.

This is one way. Visualize the blazing Star, still, and yet full of life and light. Identify yourself with the Star, with the center of that Star. Allow your energies to go into the still center of that Star. Within that center you will find that all the anxieties of material life, all the struggles that you encounter in daily life, will fall away from you. In the heart of the Star is deep, eternal peace, and within this peace you are united with those whom you love.

On a daily basis give yourself time to enter this Star Temple, this calming scene. Go into it, away from the noise and turmoil and tumult, the fears and anxieties of the material plane. There, within the center of this Star, find divine, holy peace. Hear within your Soul the music of the heavenly spheres, the music of the Holy Word, the audible life-stream which flows from the heart of the Creator.

Be still now, within your mind and body. Listen inwardly. Beneath all sound, beneath all thought, in the deep silence at the heart of creation, you will hear the harmony of God.

The Sun has entered SAGITTARIUS

The sign of SAGITTARIUS is signified by the Archer or mythological Centaur and gives you cosmic relief after the ordeals of the intense Scorpio energies. An optimistic and enthusiastic demeanor sustains your one-pointed efforts abd sparks a renewed sense of daring and adventure in the outside world. While your path can include sports, long-distance journeys, and philosophical inquiries, steer clear of the temptation to be a dilettante - an amateur in many fields but master of none. As you strive towards truth and wisdom, it is easy to see the universal picture but ignore practical details and then complain about hard work. The fires of this sagacious sign can entice you with illusions of greatness or turn your gaze towards clear, long-range aspirations. There will be six eclipses in 2009, unlike the usual four that occur most years. Each eclipse either adds or reinforces another dimension to the force of the outer planets. One Solar Eclipse (January 7th in Aquarius) and two Lunar Eclipses (February 9th in Leo and August 6th in Aquarius) will activate your solar third/ninth house axis. There are some past plans on which you have been following through that seem as though they will hold you back in fulfilling the new ideas which you have dreamed up. ANIMAL: THE TURTLE

Turtle…the Great Mother
Free my Spirit,
Clothe my heart,
Feed my Soul,
That I may serve you!

In Shaman teachings, Turtle is the oldest symbol for the planet Earth. It is the personification of goddess energy, and the Eternal Mother from which our lives evolve. We are born of the womb of Earth, and into her soil our bodies will return. In honoring the Earth, we are asked by Turtle to be mindful of the cycle of give and take, to give back to our Mother what she has so generously given to us.

Turtle has a shell which is similar to the protection that Earth has employed for centuries as her body has been defiled. Mother Earth’s protection has come in the form of Earth changes, new plant growth, and the creation of new land masses by volcanoes and climate alterations. Like Turtle, you also have shells that protect you from hurt, envy, jealousy, and the unconsciousness of others. Turtle teaches you, by its habit patterns, how to use protection. If you are bothered by the actions and words of others, it is time to go inside yourself and honor your feelings. If you are attacked, it is time to give a warning snap!

May has chosen the symbol of Turtle for its expression. You are being asked to honor the creative source within you, to be grounded to the Earth, and to observe your life situation with motherly compassion. Use the water and earth energies, which represent Turtle’s two homes, to flow harmoniously with your situation and to place your feet firmly on the ground in a power stance.

Turtle is a fine teacher in the art of grounding. You may even be able to overcome some of your “space cadet” tendencies if you align with the Turtle. In learning to ground, you are placing focus on your thoughts and actions and slowing to a pace that assures completion.

Turtle warns you of the dangers of “pushing the river”, as evidenced by the plodding place it keeps. The corn that is harvested before its time is not yet full. However, if given a chance to develop at its own rate, in its own season, its sweetness will be shared by all.

Turtle buries its thoughts, like its eggs, in the sand, and allows the sun to hatch the little ones. This teaches you to develop your ideas before bringing them out into the light. Look at the oldest fable of the tortoise and the hare, and decide if you would like to align yourself with the Turtle. Bigger, stronger and faster are not always the best ways to get to a goal. When you arrive, you may be asked where you have been and you may not be able to remember. In that case, arriving prematurely can make you feel very immature.

December 2008 - has been chosen as the month for the Turtle - which augurs a time of connecting with the power of the Earth - the Mother-Goddess within. It does not matter what situation you have created in your life. This is a reminder of the ally you have with the Mother Earth, and as New Year’s Day approaches ask her for assistance in 2009, and abundance will follow.
