March 2008 - Meditation

Now withdraw into the rose flower center of your heart. Meditate on the perfect yellow rose. The rose of twelve petals lies at the temple of your heart. It’s petals are opening to the sun - every petal gleaming and glowing with the light. There is an ineffable light in the heart of this beautiful spring flower.

Become enfolded within these petals, in a soft pearly light. You are within the temple of the rose, the Sun pours down into the heart… opening up the doorway to all empowering, unconditional Love. You are a part of this radiance and one with all of humanity, within the heart of Spirit.

May God grant me Health, Protection and Guidance.

When the power of love replaces the love of power, then we can begin our journey of awakening. The Spring Equinox Leads us to New Beginnings - Easter, Flowers, Pets, Gardening and Spring.

The Sun has entered PISCES

The sign of PISCES in March, 2008, reminds us of the entwined Fish, two spiritual energies becoming paramount, faith and compassion. Faith is the magical elixir that can vanquish hesitation, paralyzing anxiety and qualms. It can transfigure your life, offering increased psychic sensitivity, universal love and divine enlightenment. Compassion is essential now that you are in the final phase of the zodiac journey. Altruism must take precedence over egotism as empathy for all of humanity replaces individual pride and competitive tendencies. Understanding, as a broad comprehension of life’s mysteries, is the special gift of every Pisces. No matter what sign of the twelve you may be, this month can make you an imaginative visionary with the mastery to benefit others in a variety of ways.

Based on the Rune (Breakthrough) and Animal (Rabbit) March brings the beginning of new contracts, a sudden move, upsetting conditions at the workplace, ups and downs with the Stock Market, disrupted or delayed vacation plans along with increased fuel prices. Watch interest rates increase, the Stock Market reel, while real estate begins to have a slow comeback. Be prepared to say good-bye to your old life early on, and welcome your new life direction at the Spring Equinox. Scared little Rabbit,
Please drop your fright!
Running doesn’t stop the pain,
Or turn darkness to light.

A long time ago, no one really knows how long ago this was, Rabbit was a brave and fearless warrior. Rabbit was befriended by Eye Walker, a witch. The witch and the Rabbit spent much time together talking and sharing ideas. The two were very close.

One day Eye Walker and Rabbit were walking along and they sat down on the trail to rest. Rabbit said, “I’m thirsty.” Eye Walker picked up a leaf, blew on it, and then handed Rabbit a gourd of water. Rabbit drank the water but didn’t say anything. Then Rabbit said, “I’m hungry.” Eye Walker picked up a stone and blew on it and changed it into a turnip. She gave the turnip to Rabbit to eat. Rabbit tasted it and then ate the turnip with relish. But still, Rabbit didn’t say anything.

The two continued along the trail, which led into the mountains. Near the top, Rabbit tripped and fell and rolled almost to the bottom. Rabbit was in very sad condition when Eye Walker got to him. She used a magic salve on Rabbit to heal his great pain and mend his broken bones. Rabbit didn’t say anything.

Several days later Eye Walker went searching for her friend. She searched high and low, but Rabbit was nowhere to be found. Finally, Eye Walker gave up. Then she met Rabbit quite by accident one day. “Rabbit, why are you hiding and avoiding me?” the witch asked.

“Because I’m afraid of you. I’m afraid of magic,” answered Rabbit, cowering. “Leave me alone.”

“I see,” said Eye Walker. “I’ve used my magical powers on you to help you and now you turn on me and refuse my friendship.”

“I want nothing to do with your magical powers.” Rabbit countered. Rabbit did not even see the tears his words were bringing to Eye Walker’s eyes. “I hope we never meet and that I never see you again,” Rabbit continued.

“Rabbit,” Eye Walker said, “We were once great friends and companions, but no more. It is within my power to destroy you, but because of the past medicines we have shared, I will not do this. But from this day forward I lay a curse on you and your tribe. From now on, you will call on your fears and your fears will come to you. Be on your way, for the sweet medicine that has bound us together as friends is now broken.”

Now Rabbit is the Fear Caller. He goes out and shouts, “Eagle, I am afraid of you.” If Eagle doesn’t hear him, Rabbit calls louder. “Eagle, stay away from me!” Eagle, now hearing Rabbit, comes and eats him. Rabbit calls bobcats, wolves, owls, coyotes and even snakes until they come.

As this story shows, Rabbit medicine people are so afraid of tragedy, illness, disaster, and “being taken,” that they call those very fears to them in order to learn the lesson. The keynote here is “whatever you resist will persist!” What you fear most is what you will become.

Here is the lesson for the March energies of 2008. Stop talking about horrible things happening and get rid of “what if” from your vocabulary. The Rabbit may signal a time of worry about your future or of trying to exercise your control over that which is not yet in form - the future. Stop now! Write your fears down and be willing to feel all of them. Breathe into them, and feel them running through you in down into Mother-Earth and give them away to her to transform into positive energies.

There is always a way out of any situation, because the positive energies and Universal Force does move on. It is the way in which you handle the problems at will allow you to succeed.

So take a hint from Rabbit. Burrow into a safe space inside to nurture yourself and release your fears until it is time again to move out into the meadow. Clear the pasture of the prowlers who want a piece of your juicy life energy.

RUNE of the Month - Thurisaz

GATEWAY - the Place of Non-Action

With a gateway for its symbol, this Rune indicates that there is work to do both inside and outside of yourself. The Spirit of Transformation guards the gate of the personal world, looking out as well as in, symbolizing the abiding urge to transcend the limits of the little self. The Gateway is at once a portal and a frontier between Heaven and the mundane. Having this Rune during the energies of Pisces completes a cycle that brings new beginnings and is a recognition of your readiness to contact the luminous, the Divine, to illuminate your experience so that its meaning shines through its form.

Thurisaz is the Rune of non-action. This Gateway is not to be approached and passed through without contemplation. During the time of Pisces energies, you are being confronted with a true reflection of what is hidden within yourself, what must be exposed and examined before successful action can be undertaken. This Rune’s strength lies in its ability to wait. This is not a time to take decisions. Deep transformational forces are at work with this Rune.

Visualize a gateway on a hilltop. Your entire life lies behind you and below. Before you pass through this Gateway, pause and review the past; the learning, the joys, the tests and tribulations, all you have experienced and all it took to bring you to this place, this moment. Bless it, release it, and let it go! For in doing so, you will reclaim what is truly yours, the powers within the Universe.

ARIES (3/21-4/20)

Frustration and impatience can get the best of you this month, Aries, especially at home and at work. Prepare yourself to think and respond kindly when tensions rise and ego’s clash. There is no point in getting involved in a power struggle or standing your ground in what’s really a no-win situation. Be careful and watch out for small accidents around the house. Something could happen very unexpectedly. To keep physically and emotionally fit, stay in your own company. Meditate and find some quiet time during some evenings and weekends in March. Don’t hesitate to take some well-deserved time for yourself. Taking a long, brisk walk or doing your workout can boost your intuition and release frustrations while bringing you new ideas and focus for your dreams and desires. Friendships and being close to someone are especially meaningful now.

TAURUS (4/21-5/21)

Hey, easy with that gas pedal this month, Taurus! There’s no point in risking an accident. Reschedule travel if you can. Also, be careful of clashes with neighbors and your in-laws. You can be lucky if you plan a weekend or get-together with friends. Not only in sharing with some outdoor sports, but you could meet that someone special at one of these gatherings or events. Take note of any social activities scheduled around the New Moon on the 7th because whoever you meet could pay off by month’s end. You could fall in love at first sight, but it may take a few weeks for the two of you to get together, so don’t be concerned about a slow start. It is also possible that a long-term friendship could turn into something special. You may be invited to join a club or organization or be asked to take a leadership role. Don’t say no, say maybe. By month’s end, you’ll be all for it.

GEMINI (5/21-6/20)

You could experience a boost in your income between March 7th and the end of May, Gemini. Keep a tight budget, because you are sure to have several unexpected expenses as well. A friend could ask you for a loan or an organization may ask for a donation. Do not hesitate to say no, because you must keep a tight fist on your budget. It’s time to expand your world view or philosophy. Someone you talk to or something you read may inspire you to have faith, think positive, be active, keep physically fit and face the world with enthusiasm. Your sixth sense will also be working for you, so listen to your inner hunches. You could receive a raise or promotion by month’s end. CANCER (6/21-7/22)

You have great energy and initiative, but you’ll have the tendency to push yourself to the max. Ease up and know when to quit, Cancer. If you overdo it, you could strain yourself physically, become ill or create an accident. These same rules apply for sleep. Make it a priority to meet or exceed your minimum sleep requirements every night right through May. March’s question for you is where are you going and when are you leaving? If a trip isn’t an option, or you’d rather stay home, this is an ideal time to take a class, online or in person, for fun or for profit. The timing is also great to attend a school or family reunion. Close relationships benefit you all year, and March is one of the best months to establish new friendships. It will put you in touch with people at a distance and give you easy access to knowledge and information. However, career relationships will be under a strain for awhile. Do your best to steer clear of workplace controversy and power struggles. Be sure not to push your limits with your boss.

LEO (7/23-8/22)

Your home and family need more attention from you this month, Leo, whether it’s because of repairs and renovations or family needs. An infusion of cash arrives from a family member when it is most needed. You’re working on creating happiness and balance in your life and that’s the most important criteria to keeping physically fit. Keep in mind that this makes it easier to maintain a buoyant mood and high level of vitality. Your social world has been through powerful transformations since 1995 and more will occur this year, thanks to the eclipse forces and Pluto’s transformation. Children, if you have them, continue to go through transformative change. Romantic ties evoke powerful feelings, but may be a bit troublesome at times. With the current unpredictability of your finances, family provides much needed sustenance over the year, even if it’s only emotional support. VIRGO (8/23-9/22)

You could feel quite a money crunch around the 21st, Virgo, so try to stash some cash before then, if possible. This is likely to be an unexpected expense, and possibly come to your attention in early March. A friend or loved one could need some financial help. Go ahead, if you feel comfortable with it, but don’t expect to be paid back. Since Easter arrives early this year, it’s a good time to plan some spring outings and get-togethers with like-minded people. However, be cautious about getting involved with any group who expects contributions. If you’re a member of an investment club, encourage a conservative approach. Relationships are in focus the entire month and ideal for couples and singles, as well as business partnerships and friendships. You’ll find people open to requests and more supportive than usual. Some will bring you luck. Of course there are those stressful days when people try to block your progress, but be patient. Things are moving along well for you, just be sure to double-check all of your facts.

LIBRA (9/23-10/22)

You can expect family tension in early March, Libra, and you may be preparing for a relocation or move. Work pressures will likely be the cause, but a domestic mechanical problem cold also be the cause; check credentials before you schedule a repair, and do the same if you plan to consult a professional, such as an accountant. You are in the Spotlight at the Spring Equinox as the lunar energy gives you an extra measure of confidence. People near you may complain that you are less attentive to their needs and less willing to compromise. That’s okay because even a Libra, who represents partnerships, is entitled to some down time. Action will center wound the home front throughout March, and most events will be positive, even exciting and uplifting. If you are house hunting around the New Moon, you could be led to the perfect place to own or rent. You may also be remodeling, redecorating, or making a major home purchase. Go easy if you need to borrow for any of these. Buy less rather than more, and try not to get so caught up in the moment that you sign on the dotted line without a realistic look at your financial picture. The first week in March will be an inspirational one for you Sag. Use this highly creative influence for a hobby, or read a self-help motivational book to spark your thinking. You and your partner or romantic interest could be at odds over the Spring Equinox. It may be serious enough to cut ties when values clash. Try to stay out of any conflict that erupts, and think calm thoughts rather than say something you may later regret.
